Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

I'm always looking for new products to add to my skincare routine. Around a month ago I decided that I didn't like my Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm anymore. I felt like it didn't do my skin any good. I searched the internet and asked Twitter, the answer I kept coming back to was the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I decided to take the leap and order it off Boots, I managed to get a free sample of it too. I ordered the starter kit which came with 2 muslin cloths and a little travel bag.

Newlook & Primark Haul

This my first haul post. I've waited until I've had a few things to show you! If you hadn't noticed in the title, I've had a little spending spree in Primark & Newlook. I really like Primark at the moment and I'm dying to go to the Bristol one as the one by me hasn't got a lot. Let me know what you think in the comments below...

I was shopping on the Newlook website and came across the "Nothing To Wear" top. It immediately jumped out at me because this is what I say every single day. I always feel like I have no clothes! I added it to my basket, this was £7.99 here. I then saw the high neck ribbed grey top, I love grey clothing and I thought that this would be nice in the summer! It's quite short not cropped but I like to wear it with my Joni Jeans from Topshop. This was £6.99 here.

I always like to wear vest tops, I wear them underneath jumpers in the winter. I just think they're a great thing to have. They go with pretty much anything and I own about 7! For £2.99 you can't go wrong really. You can purchase it here. I also brought a necklace from Newlook which I forgot to include in the photo! You can have a look here

Primark is always good for their pj's. I hadn't treated myself to new ones in a while so I was well overdue! When I saw these with pugs and unicorns I couldn't resist. I really want a pug when I eventually move out. Next I brought these tights, Primark tights are amazing value for money! Around £3 for 3 pairs, I always pick these up.
Last but not least, work shoes. I hate buying work wear and I've needed some work shoes for some time now. These were £4 which I thought was a bargain, I'm not sure how long they'll last but we'll soon see!

My Favourite Highlighters

Highlighter is one of my all time favourite beauty products. Since the day I brought my first highlighter, I have used it all the time! My makeup isn't quite complete without it. I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on the ones I use all the time.

NARS Copacabana Illuminator | Link

I've been really enjoying mixing this in with my foundation to give my skin a radiant glow. I find it's very pigmented and it's a beautiful champagne silver shade with a metallic finish and it has a really light texture. I also love using it on my collar bones to give that extra shimmer. You can use it anywhere really!

MAC Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish | Link

The first highlighter I ever brought was this one. I think powder highlighters are my favourite because you have more control. This is a stunning soft powder with a high-frost metallic finish. I feel like it gives my skin a beautiful glow. I use it on the tops of my cheekbones and my brow bones. As you can see, I'm running low but I've had it for a good year and a half!

Benefit Watt's Up! | Link

This is my most recent highlighter. It came with "The Bronze Champions" from Benefit, along with some other trial sized products. I love this highlighter because your really can just sweep it across your face. I find it easier to blend it in with my fingers rather than a brush. I've noticed that it doesn't interfere with my foundation / powder when I use it. I can't wait to buy the full sized one when I've ran out!

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - Bronze | Link

The most expensive but probably the most value for money! Bobbi Brown is famous for her shimmer bricks. I have the bronze shimmer brick as there are a few to choose from and effectively you have 5 different highlighter shades in one. I like to sweep my brush over them all to put on the tops of my cheekbones. I tend to use the lightest shade for my brow bones and the darker shades as eye shadows for going out - this seems to work really well! The "Brightening Brick" has just come out so I'd love to know your thoughts on that if anyone has tried it!

There we go, have you tried any of these highlighters? Can you recommend any others?

Drugstore Makeup Look

Hello everyone, I feel like I've had such a hectic week already and we're only on Wednesday! I have brought some lighting (Yay) unfortunately, I took these photo's before I could use the lighting. This is the look I wear on a daily basis to work, all of the items apart from one can be purchased from Boots.

After moisturising my skin I put on my foundation. I don't tend to use a primer because I don't see any difference with it on so I don't see the point. I use the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, I have been using this for a while now. It is medium coverage and buildable. I think the shades are a really good match! I have the shade Ivory.

I then go on to apply my concealer, the one that I am loving at the moment is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, I use this under my eyes and on my imperfections. I find it very creamy and hides dark circles really well! I have recently been applying it with this Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

I powder my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. As you can see by the packaging, it's very well used. I've actually got the transparent one but I wouldn't mind trying a coloured one next time. My foundation stays in place all day with this powder!

For my eyebrows I use the Collection Work The Colour Eyebrow Kit. For the price this kit is pretty good. You get 3 colours, an eyebrow gel and a little brush. I mix the darkest shade with the second darkest shade and apply to my eyebrows using the brush supplied. I then use the clear brow mascara to keep my eyebrows in place.

This mascara obviously isn't a drugstore mascara but I thought I would include it because I got a free sample of the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara with the Elle magazine. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and I am yet to buy the full sized product. I feel it lengthens and adds volume to your lashes, I did a review on it here.

The Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner I have been using a lot of lately because my lips have been so so dry and wearing lipstick everyday doesn't help. This lip conditioner is very moisturising and not oily. I sometimes wear a drugstore lipstick and its always from the Rimmel Kate Moss range.

Rimmel Match Perfection - £6.99
Wake Me Up Concealer - £5.49
Stay Matte Powder - £3.99
Collection Eyebrow Kit - £3.99
Benefit Roller Lash - £19.50
Blistex Lip Conditioner - £2.59

Boots are offering 2 for £10 on all Rimmel products at the moment!

LUSH Imperialis Face Moisturiser Review

As most of you know, LUSH has the most gorgeous collection of fresh handmade cosmetics. I was recently in my local LUSH store having a nose around and I decided to pick up the LUSH Imperialis Face Moisturiser. I'm always looking for new skincare and I'm one of those people that are forever trying to get their skincare perfect.

Imperialis is "A light balancing face cream packed with herbal goodies to restore your skin to its majestic beauty". I have been using this product for about a month and a half now. It is advertised as a moisituriser for all skin types. However, I suffer with dry skin so in the morning I sometimes put 2 coats on and in the evening I mix it with this E45 cream to help with the dry patches. I would recommend you knowing or finding out your skin type before purchasing.

The smell
It smells like flowers. As it has lavender and elder flower extract in, the smell is quite strong. I recommend you go and smell this before buying as it is going to be sitting on your face all day!

The look
The packaging is a smooth black container with white writing, quite appealing. As it's a screw top lid sometimes it can be quite annoying if it falls upside down in your makeup bag and some of the product then gets stuck to the lid and can occasionally leak.

The product -
It feels very moisturising and soft on your skin. The colour is a very light pink / beige. It is one of the better mositurisers I have used and also one of the more expensive ones. I used to use Simple skincare but I didn't think it did anything for my skin. This seems to help a lot more, my redness has gone down too which is a bonus!

Overall, for £13.50 I'm not sure I would purchase again, I would probably go and explore other options within LUSH Cosmetics. I think I would need a moisturiser that's more aimed towards dry skin although I am enjoying using this and it's definitely a step up from before!

Do you have any moisturisers worth trying for dry skin?

5 Apps I Find Useful As A Blogger

We're in March already, how did that happen?! Where is the time going? Anyway, I love my iPhone and use it every single day. As a blogger I have come across many applications to use to help my blog grow. Being a newbie to blogging I thought I'd share with you some apps that I like to use:

Blogger

This is an app that many personal bloggers use. If you have a blog on Blogger, I would definitely recommend getting this app. However, the functionality of this app isn't brilliant but you can still write blog posts on the go and reply to comments!

Instagram

I have been on Instagram for a while now and I love it. It's a social network site and I feel like I have learnt a lot in terms of how to get noticed. I find having bright, clear pictures are the best and I like to use relevant hash tags for the people who are interested in what I am sharing. Instagram is where I have the most followers at the moment, you can follow me here if you're interested in seeing more!

Twitter

Twitter is another fast growing social networking site. I have only have Twitter a few weeks but I have found it has increased my blog traffic and I seem to have connected to other bloggers. I find that once you get people to retweet your tweets you get more followers which means more people potentially looking at your blog. You can follow me here.

Bloglovin'

Bloglovin' has got to be one of my favourite apps of all time. You follow the blogs you love reading and its so easy to comment and have a connection with the blogger, other people see you comment and click on your profile! You can also save the post so if you don't have time to read it you can at a later time or date. You can follow my profile here.

Afterlight

A photo editing app. This is what I use to edit all of my photo's on Instagram. I find it has a lot more choice of filters than Instagram. I also feel it has a lot more editing features, such a colour, exposure, contrast and temperature. I can upload it straight to Instagram afterwards or just save it to my camera roll!

What's the apps that you like to use?
