I feel like this has been a long post coming. I haven’t posted on my blog in over 4 weeks - oops. I’ve been engaged for almost 4 weeks now and let me tell you, they have flown by! In between swapping jobs, my boyfriend (back then) asked me to marry him by the sea in Mallorca.
I’ve never been one of those girls that have had their wedding planned since they were 6 years old, I actually never thought it would happen to me. I’ve had loads of people asking me if i knew he was going to do it. OF COURSE I DIDN’T. Yes, we’ve been together 7 and a half years now but I still didn’t think he’d propose to me for another 4 years or something. We we’re walking along the sea front on the first day of holiday, it was early evening, the sun was still shining and we were in an amazing mood because we were on holiday. I start to walk back to our hotel, turn around to ask Dan something and he’s on one knee with a red box open asking me to marry him. I was SO IN SHOCK. I think I was speechless for around a minute, then cried, then screamed, then said yes and hugged him. He turned to me and was like ‘put the ring on’! It still shocks me to this day that he asked my dad, went around jewelers, chose a beautiful ring, hid it from me and managed to get it to Mallorca without me knowing. Another thing to add, I had great nails and a tan so I was a happy bunny.
We actually kept the whole thing secret until we got back from our holiday where we told our parents in person. They were as over the moon as us. There’s been no wedding planning as of yet. Although, I have been looking through magazines, looking at dresses and searching Pinterest.
It’s safe to say that I can’t wait to marry my best friend and the love of my life. We’re beyond excited about planning the future wedding. But first, the engagement party!
This has been the best moment of 2017 so far, of my life.
